• January 17 – Kim Suozzi is cryopreserved by the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.
• May – Sylvia Sinclair is cryopreserved by the Cryonics Institute.
• October 29 – Jane Haiko legally dies and few months later becomes the first American person cryopreserved by KrioRus.
