Jane Haiko

Jane Emilija Haiko[1] (October 30, 1942 – legal death October 29, 2013)[1] is the only American person cryopreserved by KrioRus.[2] It is unusual for an American person to be cryopreserved by a non-American organization, since there are cryonics storage facilities (such as the Alcor Life Extension Foundation and the Cryonics Institute) in the United States already.

Haiko was born in Grodzisko, Poland.[1] In her younger years, she worked as a school teacher.[1] She legally died in a hospital in Sacramento, California on October 29, 2013.[1] Her son and daughter maintained her body in dry ice, and arranged her transport to KrioRus.[1] KrioRus received her in mid-January 2014.[1] At first the family wanted to send Haiko to the Cryonics Institute, but then entrusted her to KrioRus.[1]
