Media Performance of Transhumanism - Humanity+ @San Francisco, 2012

Michael Anissimov is a futurist and political thinker focused on emerging technologies.[1]

"Mr. Anissimov writes and speaks on futurist issues, especially the relationships between accelerating change, nanotechnology, existential risk, transhumanism, and the Singularity. His popular blog Accelerating Future discussed these issues regularly. His central fields of study outside of futurism are normative rationality, models for judgement under uncertainty, and heuristics and biases research.

History[править]

In 2005, at age 21, Michael Anissimov co-created the concept for the Singularity Summit, the world’s largest conference focused on transhumanist technologies.[3] A leading voice on the technological Singularity, Michael was quoted multiple times in Ray Kurzweil’s 2005 book The Singularity is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology. He lives in San Francisco, CA.[4]

Accelerating Future[править]

Accelerating Future no longer contains Anissimov's writings, but archive copies of articles are available via the Internet Archive.

The Neoreactionary Movement[править]

In 2013, Anissimov created the blog site MoreRight, seemingly as a counter to some of the ideas in LessWrong. MoreRight cannot be found on the Internet Archive, but is preserved on Archive.is.

In 2015 Anissimov wrote and self-published the short book A Critique of Democracy: A Guide for Neoreactionaries. The book is summarised as follows: "This guide explores the arguments against democracy. Democracy is often viewed as a mandatory system for any civilized country, but there is a compelling case, drawing on economics, political theory, and cognitive psychology, that claims otherwise."
