Dr. Kim Eric Drexler is an American engineer and cryonicist best known for studies of the potential of molecular nanotechnology.
His paper "Molecular engineering: An approach to the development of general capabilities for molecular manipulation" (1981) is the first one suggesting that nanotechnology could reverse freezing injury.[1] Chapter 9, "A Door to the Future", in his book Engines of Creation (1986) is specifically about biostasis and cryonics.[2]
As of 2001, he was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.[3] He is a signatory of the Scientists' Open Letter on Cryonics, having signed it on March 19, 2004.[1]
He is signed up for cryopreservation,[4] most likely with Alcor.
