- January – Valeriya Udalova's dog Alice becomes the first dog cryopreserved in Russia.
- March 29 – Rose Selkovitch, the oldest cryopreserved person in the world, legally dies and is cryopreserved by the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.
- September 5 – Lyubov Chernaya legally dies and is cryopreserved by KrioRus.
