A number of events regarding cryonics occurred in 2008.

Events

• January – Valeriya Udalova's dog Alice becomes the first dog cryopreserved in Russia.
• March 29 – Rose Selkovitch, the oldest cryopreserved person in the world, legally dies and is cryopreserved by the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.
• September 5 – Lyubov Chernaya legally dies and is cryopreserved by KrioRus.

• The Finnish Cryonics Society is founded.
