• January 24 – The two CryoCare Foundation patients, James Gallagher and Henrietta Popper, are transferred to the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.
• September 11 – Two signed up cryonicists die in the September 11 attacks.

• The Dutch Cryonics Organisation is founded.
