- May 14 – Helen Kline legally dies and is cryopreserved by the Cryonics Society of California.
- July – Donald Kester Sr. legally dies and is cryopreserved by the Cryo-Care Equipment Corporation.
- July 28 – Steven Mandell legally dies and (later?) becomes the first person cryopreserved by the Cryonics Society of New York.
- September 6 – Russ Stanley legally dies and is (later?) cryopreserved by the Cryonics Society of California.
- November 19 – Andrew Mihok legally dies and is later cryopreserved by the Cryonics Society of New York.
