Biomedical Research and Longevity Society
The Biomedical Research and Longevity Society, Inc. (BRLS) is an American organization that provides financial support for research in cryobiology, interventive gerontology, and cryonics. During the 2010s alone, BRLS awarded more than $100 million in grants to highly-specialized cryogenic research organizations.[1] BRLS's grant recipients include 21st Century Medicine, Critical Care Research, Suspended Animation, Inc., and Advanced Neural Biosciences.[2]
BRLS was founded by Bill Faloon and Saul Kent in 1977 as the Florida Cryonics Association (FCA). The name was later changed to the Life Extension Foundation (LEF). The current name was adopted in 2018.[3]
