A number of events regarding cryonics occurred in 2020.
Events
- January 10 – The Human Cryopreservation Procedures book is published.
- February 25 – The 2030 film is released online.
- March – Minnesota Cryonics Rapid Response is founded.
- Late April – A Discord server (later renamed The Cryosphere) for cryonicists is founded.
- May – Patrick Harris becomes the president and CEO of the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.
- July 19 – The actress Katee Sackhoff releases the Should I FREEZE MYSELF When I Die? video on her YouTube channel.
- September 12 – The 2020 Annual Strategic Board Meeting of Alcor is held.
- September 13 – The 2020 Cryonics Institute Annual General Meeting is held.
- September 15 – The Hope Frozen film is released on Netflix.
- October 24–25 – The Biostasis2020 conference is held.
- December 15 – Yahoo! Groups is shut down completely, New Cryonet's messages being lost.

- A large majority of CryoSuisse members sees no need to continue CryoSuisse as an association, and votes in favour to dissolve the association.
- Divergent Jason, a children's book with a cryonics theme is published.
