• January 1 – Max More becomes the president of the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.
• March 14 – New Cryonet is founded.
• March 15 – Cryonet3 is founded.
• July 23 – Robert Ettinger legally dies and is cryopreserved by the Cryonics Institute.
