- May 8 – Robert Binkowski legally dies and is later cryopreserved by the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.
- July 24 – CryoNet is founded.
- December 12 – Dick Clair legally dies and is cryopreserved by the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.
