Singularitarianism is a movement that proposes we are approching the technological singularity and that such events will be marked by the emergence of technologies such as strong AI.

Individuals who subscribe to this point of view may be referred to as singularitarians.

In favour[править]

Supporters of Ray Kurzweil use of the term cite the increases in computing power and sometimes human lifespan. Many hope that an AGI will be able to swiftly solve many of the world's problems over a very short period of time.

Against[править]

Moore's law is currently headed in a mix of software and hardware defined directions, rather purely in a hardware sense.[1]

Many of the easier wins in health are defeated such as infant mortality, whilst the more complex issues such as the underlying causes of ageing are unsolved.
