Life extension is the study and practice of biologically-centred anti-ageing techniques.
It is sometimes referred to in a distinct fashion from immortalism, mind uploading, indefinite lifespan or other technological longevity solutions. Inclusion of emerging technologies may be instead referred to as radical life extension.
The philosophy of life extension is longevism. Opposition to life extension may be pejoratively referred to as deathism.
In wider society, there are many arguments made against life extension, as well as many varying attitudes based on how the proposition is phrased.[1]
