Person of Interest
Person of Interest is an AI science fiction series that ran from 2011 to 2016.
The world involves strong surveillance themes, ranging from police corruption, government mass surveillance and ultimately the the control and subversion of the systems in place.
The series centres around a small team of specialists working for an advanced AI refered to as “The Machine” which has been programmed to produce tips around serious crimes—either the victim or perpetrator—via ingesting the world's data and surveillance feeds. In most episodes the cast must investigate this 'person of interest' through an investigation often involving technology subversion or other deception.
The latter half of the series shows the rise of a rival AI named Samaritan, fronted by an interest group determined to place it in charge of the world as a 'god'.
