Nootropic or Nootropics (plural) are substances or compounds that are believed to improve cognitive abilities. They are sometimes also referred to as Cognitive Enhancers or Smart Drugs.

The word Nootropic was first coined by a Romanian chemist and psychologist in 1972.[1] Corneliu E. Giurgea took the Greek words nous, or "mind", and trepein meaning to turn or bend. The word could therefor be said to mean Mind-bending or Mind-turning, but Mind Altering may be the better term.

In Pop CultureПравить

The most notable occurrence of Nootropics is in the Film and TV Series Limitless
