Artificial Wombs
Artificial wombs (or artificial uterus) are an emerging technology whereby extracorporeal pregnancy or extrauterine fetal incubation (EUFI) would be made possible.
Relation to Transhumanism
Artificial wombs hold many promising potential applications. Premature babies will be able to be placed into artificial wombs in order help them to continue to develop outside of the parent. This could lead to a reduction in the number of deaths by premature birth.
They may also be able to be used to eliminate the health risks of childbirth. [1]
Artificial wombs could also be used to achieve Ectogenesis.
In The News
