A woman who is down on her luck receives news from a man from space that she is destined for greatness.
Transhumanist Elements[править]
The aliens in the movie are actually transhumans who rule the galaxy, harvesting Earth for life extension/longevity related resources in order to keep themselves alive. It's never explored why thousand-year-old civilizations of sentient beings must be utilised for this process rather than a synthetic substitute. As such immortality is simultaneously villianised in a vampirific sense of monstrous soulless beings preying on the innocent, as well as a critique of the oligarchic power structures which reserve these advanced medical technologies for themselves.
