Paul Mitchell Hurst Sr.[1][2] (c. 1907 – legal death 1969) was the fourth person cryopreserved by the Cryonics Society of New York.[1]
He legally died when he was 62 years old.[2] His cryopreservation was arranged by his son, Paul Hurst Jr., a psychology professor.[2] Hurst Sr. was cryopreserved after a lengthy delay and had been embalmed prior to preservation as well.[2] Around 1974 Hurst Jr. decided to move to Australia, no longer wanted to make payments, and so had his father conventionally interred.[2] Before this, another patient, Herman Greenberg, would be held in the same capsule.[1]
