Шаблон:Infobox CI-174 (c. 1922 – legal death February 16, 2019)[1] is the first whole-body patient perfused by Cryonics Germany.[1][2] He was a 96-year-old retired engineer who lived in a hospice care in Hannover, Germany.[1]
His legal death occurred on February 16, 2019, a Saturday evening, in the course of an aspiration pneumonia.[1] He was quickly put on cold storage at about 6 °C, and the hospital staff informed the Cryonics Germany emergency team.[1] In the morning of Sunday, February 17, three members of Cryonics Germany started perfusion via the common carotid artery approximately 11 hours after the legal death.[1] He was placed in dry ice and was transported to the United States.[1] There he was cryopreserved by the Cryonics Institute, becoming CI's 174th patient.[1]
