Dick Clair

Dick Clair (November 12, 1931 – legal death December 12, 1988), born Richard Jones, was an American television producer who co-created the shows It's a Living, The Facts of Life, and Mama's Family. He is currently preserved at the Alcor Life Extension Foundation as patient A-1036.

Cryopreservation

Clair entered the hospital on September 25, 1988. The hospital had initially refused to agree to release his body to Alcor upon legal death, so he initiated a lawsuit against the hospital. On October 14, a temporary restraining order was granted prohibiting the hospital from interfering with the transfer of his body to a funeral director. On December 11, the hospital's nursing staff notified Alcor that Dick Clair was approaching legal death, and on December 12, a team from Alcor was able to begin preparations within a few minutes of legal death.[1]
