Campaign Against Sex Robots
{{
A June 2016 talk from Kathleen Richardson}}
The Campaign Against Sex Robots is a UK based non-profit organisation advocating the dangers associated with sex robots founded by feminist academic Kathleen Richardson.
Arguments include:[1]
- Comparison with similar initiatives advising caution in robot development such as the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots
- Reduced empathy (by men) during sex could lead to reduced overall empathy
- Robots as a reflection of undesirable societal values, citing Grand Theft Auto and other examples
- Reinforcement or undesirable social and gender power dynamics
The initiative itself has attracted criticism from a variety of directions.[2][3]
