Organ printing is an emerging technology in the medical field.

About

Organ printing is a type of 3D printing used to produce what are referred to as the "Scaffolding" of a new organ. These printed organs are then seeded with cells. This is the fundamental breakthrough with organ printing, the cells used are a direct match to that of the person receiving the organ, meaning less chance, if any, of the organ being rejected as may be the case with traditional organ transplantation.

Transhumanist Elements

Organ printing could be a major factor in regards to longevity whereby a failing or faulty organ can be replaced with a new one. This technology may help to increase the lives of many people who need new organs. It will also have a positive impact in regards to the black market organ trade, perhaps making it obsolete.
