Rauhankone

Rauhankone is a book by Timo Honkela. The book was partially funded in a crowdfunding campaign in 2017, as the author was diagnosed with brain cancer. Translated as Peace Machine.

Timo Honkela has researched machine intelligence and machine learning for 30 years.

In this book he talks about how people's understanding of each other could be made easier through translation machines. These translation machines should be aware of emotion driven phenomena so that they can guide people to understanding each other through a rational basis. The overall thesis of the book is that such an increased understanding between people would make negotiations easier, would enable people to make fairer compromises, and promote peace in the world.
