Transmetropolitan is a cyberpunk comic series, written by Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson, that ran from 1997 to 2002.[1] Set in a massive urban sprawl (simply "The City") in a 23rd-century United States, the protagonist Spider Jerusalem engages in a campaign of gonzo journalism to steer The City's massive political influence for the better.
Many speculative technologies and explicit references to transhumanism are depicted throughout the series - some are glimpsed in the background or in passing characters and side stories, but many play pivotal roles in the main plot.
