The Stepford Wives

The Stepford Wives is a satirical novel and pair of film adaptations featuring the journey of a couple to a new town where the women appear to be submissive robots.

The scenario serves as dissection of traditional vs more egalitarian gender roles and the backlash this causes in suburban society.

The 2004 film remake incorporates a number of near-future technologies, such a nanotechnology, genetic engineering and of course sex robots.
