== Synopsis ==
What would it be like to [[Life extension|extend your natural life]], to skip through years without the need for fictional magical powers? How would it feel to have the freedom to wake up in another century after what would seem like a single night of sleep? What if science made it possible to live forever?  Nothing could be better, right? When Ben awakens to find himself on a spacecraft with a seemingly uncertain destination, he wonders if immortality is really what he was seeking. Informed that he has only a few days remaining before going back into [[Cryopreservation|cryonic suspension]], he recounts the events that led to his situation. The story that follows is a journal that covers more time than any other in history. With technological advancements having made his childhood dream possible, Ben and his partner, Charlene, become the first people to extend their lives through cryonic suspension. They make the ultimate sacrifice by leaving everyone they know in order to see the future. Stopping to see the world every one hundred years, this one-way journey through time exposes the world in a new light, all while opening their eyes to the wisdom of those they meet along the way. All is not smooth sailing, though, as they overcome new challenges brought on by their quest to cheat their own mortality.<ref name="Amazon" />
