== Cryopreservation ==
Clair entered the hospital on September 25, 1988. The hospital had initially refused to agree to release his body to Alcor upon legal death, so he initiated a lawsuit against the hospital. On October 14, a temporary restraining order was granted prohibiting the hospital from interfering with the transfer of his body to a funeral director.
