* February 25 – [[Ole Martin Moen]]'s paper "The Case for Cryonics" is published online and later in the ''Journal of Medical Ethics''.
* March – [[Deborah Cheek]] becomes the first patient preserved by Oregon Cryonics.
* March 12 – The ''Elementary'' episode "[[T-Bone and the Iceman]]" first airs.
* April – [[Laurence Pilgeram]] is cryopreserved by the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.
