Calcyphosin (Calcyphosine) ==Publications== {{medline-entry |title=The Effect of Aging on the Ventilatory Response to Wearing a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Hood Respirator at Rest and During Mild Exercise. |pubmed-url=https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28051970 |abstract=Structural changes in the human body resulting from aging may affect the response to altered levels of O and CO . An abnormal ventilatory response to a buildup of CO in the inspired air due to rebreathing may result in adverse effects, which will impair the individual's ability to function under stress. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of age on the respiratory response to wearing an escape hood at rest and during mild exercise. Subjects were seven healthy, young adult males (20-30 years) and seven healthy, middle-aged males (45-65 years). Inspired CO and O , breathing pattern (tidal volume [V ] and breathing frequency [F]), and mouth inspiratory and expiratory pressures, were measured at rest and during mild exercise (50 w) while wearing the CAPS 2000 escape hood (Shalon Chemical Industries and Supergum-Rubber and Plastic Technology, Tel Aviv, Israel). Resting inspired CO was higher in the middle-aged group compared with the young group (2.25% ± 0.42% and 1.80% ± 0.34%, respectively; p < 0.05). Breathing pattern in the middle-aged group tended to be shallower and faster compared with the young group (V : 0.69 ± 0.27 L and 0.79 ± 0.32 L, respectively; F: 14.7 ± 4.0 breaths/min and 12.4 ± 2.8 breaths/min, respectively). During exercise, there was a trend toward a high inspired CO in the middle-aged group compared with the young group (2.18% ± 0.40% CO and 1.94% ± 0.70% CO , respectively). A correlation was found between age and inspired CO when wearing the escape hood (r = 0.375; p < 0.05). The age-related decrease in pulmonary function, together with the finding in this study of a higher inspired CO in middle-aged subjects wearing the CAPS 2000, may represent a greater risk for persons of middle age wearing an escape hood. On the basis of this study, it would appear reasonable to recommend that new respirators be evaluated on subjects from different age groups, to ensure the safety of both young and old. |mesh-terms=* Adult * Aging * Blood Gas Analysis * Carbon Dioxide * Exercise Tolerance * Humans * Israel * Male * Mass Spectrometry * Middle Aged * Military Personnel * Oxygen Consumption * Respiration * Respiratory Function Tests * Respiratory Protective Devices * Ventilation |full-text-url=https://sci-hub.do/10.7205/MILMED-D-16-00151 }} {{medline-entry |title=[Human bioaging acceleration as Chernobyl radiation consequence]. |pubmed-url=https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25486744 |abstract=To monitor human bioaging as a health integral index by blood plasma markers as a molar ratio for biochemically coupled monomers of intracellular lipofuscin, an intracellular polymeric aging pigment with free-radical crossed shifts, has been developed. Lipofuscin includes cell debris with catabolites of lipoperoxic cascade and lipid antioxidants. The latter were detected in the plasma samples of normal adults and children, as well as in Chernobyl clean-up workers (24-62 years old by 1990) with external total gamma-doses of 0.9-145 cSv for 4.2 years. Dynamics for bioaging markers as the molar ratio of blood levels of lipoperoxic catabolites to their antioxidants reflected normal physiologic peculiarities for the studied age periods: oxygen stress for newborns, adaptation during childhood, stability for the middle age and an increased lipoperoxidation (mainly for aging men) due to the age weakening of the antioxidant control. The ratio for the fractions of ma- lone dialdehyde (MDA), a lipoperoxic final catabolite, showed the increase of its binding by plasma proteins in proportions to calendar ages for the norm, as it is the case for lipofuscin; The graph of the age normal molar ratio of protein-bound MDA to the free one was pre-set for calibrations into the developed computer Program to calculate Relative Aging Velocities (Wrel) by bioage increments during the period of human exposure to radiation from the CAPS damage. Wrel were increasing logarithmically to the obtained doses if the total radiation exceeded 4 cSv and exceeded their normal velocities at 50 cSv 10 times or more. Slowing down of Wrel in relation to the calendar age increment was found if the sum doses were lower than 4 cSv. Levels of the studied plasma metabolites as their bioage Moles/Moles markers relative to their norms are dynamically stationary in contrast to the lipofuscin intracellular irreversible accumulation. Earlier it was shown that the decreased vitamin E and A levels with the increased lipoperoxic metabolite blood levels that indicate health consequences for the irradiated CAPS personell with related cytogenetic deviations, as well as for the adult population and children from radio-polluted regions, were restored to norms or corrected by adequate peroral therapy with bioantioxidants. |mesh-terms=* Adult * Aging * Antioxidants * Chernobyl Nuclear Accident * Child * Child, Preschool * Gamma Rays * Humans * Infant * Infant, Newborn * Lipid Peroxidation * Lipids * Male * Middle Aged * Oxidative Stress * Radioactive Hazard Release }} {{medline-entry |title=[Adaptation of self-image level and defense mechanisms in elderly patients with complicated stoma]. |pubmed-url=https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25240989 |abstract=Ostomy patients face a number of problems that impact negatively on their personal welfare. The aim of this research is determine the nature and intensity of the relationship between the level of self-concept adaptive mode and the consistent use of coping strategies of older adults with a stoma. Quantitative, correlational and transversal. VIVEROS 03 and CAPS surveys were applied in 3 hospitals in the City of Durango, México. The study included 90 older adults with an intestinal elimination stoma with complications. Kendall's Tau-b coefficient was the non-parametric test used to measure this association. Most older adults analyzed (61.3 < % < 79.9) are not completely adapted to the condition of living with an intestinal stoma. There is also a moderate positive correlation (0,569) between the level of adaptation of the older adults with a stoma and the conscious use of coping strategies. The presence of an intestinal stoma represents a physical and psychological health problem that is reflected in the level of adaptation of the self-image. Elderly people with a stoma use only a small part of defense mechanisms as part of coping process. This limits their ability to face the adversities related to their condition, potentially causing major health complications. |mesh-terms=* Adaptation, Psychological * Aged * Cross-Sectional Studies * Defense Mechanisms * Enterostomy * Female * Humans * Male * Self Concept |keywords=* Afrontamiento * Aging * Aspectos emocionales * Coping Behavior * Emotional aspects * Envejecimiento * Ostomy * Ostomía |full-text-url=https://sci-hub.do/10.1016/j.enfcli.2014.07.006 }}
